Continuing Steve Irwin’s Legacy: Oztent Supports the Annual Croc Trip

Each year, the Irwin family and their team head to Far North Queensland to continue Steve Irwin’s long-running crocodile research.

Oztent is proud to once again support the team on their annual Croc Trip at the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve on Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula.

Continuing Steve’s Legacy

Steve Irwin began his crocodile research decades ago, developing capture and study techniques that are still used by the team today.

Terri, Bindi and Robert continue that work alongside Australia Zoo’s Croc Team, Wildlife Warriors and researchers from The University of Queensland.

Each year, the team returns to the Wenlock River to capture, study, tag and release estuarine crocodiles. The research provides valuable insight into their movements, behaviour and habitat, helping build a better understanding of these incredible animals and how people and crocodiles can safely coexist.

Supporting the Team in the Field

Conducting this research means spending an extended period in remote Far North Queensland, which is why we’re proud to provide Oztent gear for the team to use while they’re there.

It’s great to see our gear being put to use in the field and, more importantly, to continue supporting the Irwins and the work they’re doing.

Each Croc Trip adds to the long-running research started by Steve and continued by the Irwin family and their team today.
